Yes! Inventory is synced in real time. If a product goes out of stock, it will automatically show as “Out of Stock” in the bundle UI and won’t be available for selection.

Q13. What happens if a product in a bundle goes out of stock?

BundleSuite manages out-of-stock products differently based on the bundle type to ensure a smooth customer experience:

  • BYOB Bundles: Out-of-stock products remain visible but are clearly marked as “Out of Stock,” so customers can see all available options but cannot select unavailable ones.
  • Standard Combo Bundles: If even one product in the bundle is out of stock, the entire bundle is marked as out of stock automatically.
  • Advanced Combo Bundles: Out-of-stock products are either greyed out or completely hidden, depending on your theme’s setup.
  • Volume Discounts: These apply directly to the original product. Inventory is managed by Shopify as usual, so there’s nothing extra you need to handle.

Q14. How is pricing calculated in BYOB bundles?

BYOB uses proportional pricing logic, where each product’s value contributes to the total bundle price, ensuring fair and accurate pricing.

Q15. Does BundleSuite provide analytics?

  • Multi-Step BYOB – Guide customers through a step-by-step flow to build their bundle.
  • Build-a-Box BYOB – Let customers freely mix and match items into a virtual box, up to a quantity or price limit.

Q34. How can I create a Multi Step BYOB bundle?

  • Go to your BundleSuite Dashboard, click Create Bundle, and choose Multi Step BYOB Bundle.
  • Add a Title and optional Description, then check the ‘Enable Multi-Step Bundle Flow’ option.

Tip : Make sure the BundleSuite App Embed is enabled in your theme.

Q36. Can I use BundleSuite with third-party checkout apps?

BundleSuite is designed to work with Shopify’s native checkout only. Third-party checkout providers are not supported due to Shopify limitations, specifically with Shopify Functions and cart transform logic, which prevent proper bundle processing outside of Shopify’s default checkout flow.

Q37. Is BundleSuite compatible with other sales channels?

BundleSuite is currently compatible only with the Online Store sales channel. It does not support:

  • Custom storefronts (like Hydrogen)
  • Shopify POS
  • Social sales channels (like Facebook or Instagram)

Support for these platforms may be considered in future updates.

Q38. What are the types of discounts in BundleSuite?

BundleSuite offers 3 powerful Volume Discount types to boost your average order value:

  • Flash Sale – Simple quantity breaks with fixed % or amount-off.
  • Bulk Discount – Tiered pricing like “Buy 2 Save 10%”, “Buy 4 Save 20%”.
  • Buy X Get Y (BOGO) – Offers like “Buy 1 Get 1 Free”, ideal for promos or clearance.

All discount styles can be customized to match your store’s branding.

Q39. How can I create Build-A-Box Bundle ?

This format lets you sell curated boxes, like “Box of 3 for $999” using fixed pricing that’s easy for customers to understand.

  • Go to your BundleSuite Dashboard, click Create Bundle, and choose Build-A-Box Bundle
  • Add a Title and optional Description, then create one product set (e.g., “Pick Your Flavors”) and add all relevant products.
  • Under Discount, select Sell as Fixed Boxes, and define your price tiers (e.g., Buy 3 for $999, Buy 6 for $1799).
  • Upload a Banner Image, choose a Template, customize layout via the in-app editor if needed, set status to Active, and hit Publish.

Q40. How can I preview my bundles?

You can preview your bundle in two ways:

  • From your BundleSuite Dashboard, go to Bundles page, click the eye icon in front of your bundle name.
  • In the Products section in your Shopify admin, find your bundle product, and click the Preview button at the top.

Q41. Can I add my bundle to a collection or display it on other pages of my Shopify store?

Yes! Every bundle you create with BundleSuite is also generated as a standalone product in your Shopify store. This means you can easily add it to any collection, feature it on your homepage, include it in navigation menus, or display it in custom product sections, just like any regular product. You can also optimize the bundle for SEO to help it rank better on search engines.

Q42. Can customers pick different variants in the same bundle?

For BYOB Bundle, customers can pick different variants in the same bundle. However, for Standard Combo Bundle and Advanced Combo Bundles, customers can select only one variant per product.

Q43. Can I make my bundles go to the cart drawer instead of the cart page?
  • For Advanced Combo and Standard Combo bundles, the Add to Cart button behaves like it does for any regular product and follows your theme’s cart drawer or popup behavior.
  • For BYOB bundles, which use their own custom cart logic, customers are always redirected to the main cart page to maintain compatibility and proper checkout flow. This is because cart behaviour varies widely throughout the themes.
Q44. How can I create a custom template and display my bundle along with custom sections ?

You can easily show your bundle with additional custom sections (like banners, FAQs, testimonials, etc.) by creating a custom product template in your Shopify theme. Here are the steps –

  • Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
  • Open the Theme Editor, switch to any product page.
  • Click the top dropdown and choose “Create template” and give it a name (eg- custom-bundle)
  • Once the new template is created, assign your bundle to the template. You can do it directly from theme editor or from your Shopify Admin Products section.
  • Now, go to your online store, click on three dots beside the Customise button and choose Edit Theme Code.
  • In your theme code, add a new section to sections folder and give it a name. Inside the section, delete the schema and create an empty div with some custom class. (eg – <div class =”my-custom-bundle”></div>).
  • Now, in templates folder, go to the custom template product.json file, in there, add your section, place it in your json file order, hit save.
  • Now in your theme customiser, open your BYOB Redirect Embed, add the class name you gave your section in the field that says Custom Section Class. Hit save.
  • Now that your custom template is created, you can add any section or block here.
Q45. Why does my BYOB bundle product show a $0.00 price in collections or search pages?

Since each BYOB bundle is also created as a standalone product in your Shopify admin, it may appear in your collections, search results, or navigation. The $0.00 price appears because the final bundle price is calculated dynamically based on the customer’s product selections and any applied tiered discounts.

Here’s how you can handle it:

Set a Placeholder Price

You can manually set a placeholder price from your Shopify Products list to avoid displaying $0.00. This is just for display purposes and won’t affect the actual pricing logic of the bundle. You’ll also find a note about this on the BYOB bundle edit page in the app.

Q46. Can I add more than 5 sets to a BYOB bundle?

At the moment, a maximum of 5 sets per bundle is allowed.

This limit helps maintain strong store performance by reducing load time and layout shifts—two important metrics (LCP and CLS) that Shopify actively monitors. Adding more than 5 sets (especially with multiple products in each) can negatively affect your store’s speed and user experience, and may trigger performance warnings from Shopify.

Supporting more than 5 sets would also require major updates to how bundles are stored and rendered, which isn’t currently feasible. If this changes in a future update, we’ll be sure to notify!

Q47. Do the individual products used in a bundle need to be published on the Online Store?

Yes, for the bundle to display properly on your store, all individual products included in the bundle must be published to the Online Store sales channel. This is a Shopify requirement that allows our app to pull and render the products on the bundle page.

Q48. How can I prevent customers from separately buying the products included in a bundle ?

Here are the ways to prevent customers to separately buy the products included in a bundle :

Option 1: Hide Products from Navigation and Search
You can keep the products published but make them hard to find by:

  • Removing them from all collections
  • Unlinking them from navigation menus
  • Tagging them as “hidden” and setting up filters to exclude them from search or auto-collections

This will ensure they remain functional for the bundle but are not visible to regular shoppers.

Option 2: Use a Custom Product Template or Metadata
Assign a custom product template (like a blank or restricted layout) to those individual items. Hide your blocks like add-to-cart button, product price, etc. That way, even if someone lands on the product page, they won’t be able to buy the product.

Q49. Can I process returns or refunds for individual items inside a bundle?

Yes, absolutely! All of our bundle types — including Standard Combo, Advanced Combo, and BYOB — fully support returns and refunds at the individual product level.

Here’s how it works across bundle types:

  • Standard Combo & BYOB Bundles: These bundles often include tiered or percentage-based discounts. When a return or refund is processed, the price of each item is automatically adjusted based on how the discount was distributed across the bundle.
  • Advanced Combo Bundle: This bundle has a fixed total price, so the individual product prices are calculated by dividing the total bundle price by the number of items included.

This means you’ll receive one unified order at checkout, but each product within the bundle is treated individually — making it easy to handle returns or refunds without affecting the rest of the order.

Q50. Can I apply multiple discounts to the same product?

No. Shopify does not allow stacking multiple automatic discounts on the same product at once. Only one automatic discount (from either Shopify or BundleSuite) can apply at checkout per product.

Q51. Why can’t I see the product selections for a bundle order in the order details?

If you’re unable to view the specific product choices made by a customer in a bundle order, it’s likely that the checkout rules setting for the app wasn’t enabled at the time the order was placed. This setting is essential to ensure that all bundle selections are properly passed through to the order details.

If this setting was off, the order will still go through, but the individual product selections won’t be visible in your admin panel. Unfortunately, the details for that specific order cannot be retrieved retroactively. We recommend contacting the customer directly to confirm their selections.

To avoid this in the future, make sure the checkout rules setting is enabled in your BundleSuite settings. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out and we’ll help set it up for you!

Q52. Why don’t I see a discount line in cart and checkout pages for Mix & Match bundles?

Mix & Match bundles use Shopify’s Cart Transform API, which adjusts the price of the bundle product directly — instead of applying a separate discount code. That’s why you’ll only see the final discounted price in cart and checkout, and not a traditional “discount line item.”

To keep things transparent for the customers, we clearly display the original price, discount amount, and final price in the bundle sidecart before checkout.

If you’re specifically looking for a discount line to show up at checkout, we recommend using our Volume Discount Bundle feature instead. It’s built using Shopify’s Discount Node, and behaves exactly as you’d expect — showing the discount breakdown in both the cart and checkout pages.

Just note: Volume Discount Bundles are best for quantity breaks, not Mix & Match setups.
